Russian Silver letter or newspaper holder, St Petersburg 1863 by Ignatiy Sazikov.
On the front panel there is a fine casted horse head and ornaments applied. Also there is a presentation engraving on the back panel to “Alexander Semenovich Nezhinsky from N.M” 9th of March 1879 in Cyrillic.
Nezhinsky Alexander Semenovich was born in 1848, the son of a merchant. In service and class rank since 1881. Active State Councilor since 1904. Official for Special Assignments of the Main Trusteeship of the Imperial Philanthropic Society in 1911. Died before 1913.
Marked 84 Russian silver, Sazikov mark under Imperial Warrant.
